Respect Woman?

We live in a very advanced yet diverse society. It is not sure who will we encounter when we step out of our homes every day. Life is unpredictable and so are people. On the one hand where this society offers us a place to live and grow on the other hand it also breeds crime. Diverse people and their unfavourable circumstances results in their diverse needs - monetary, emotional or physical …. People wandering and struggling to  fulfill  their needs are always in a folly to quench them. And unethical means adopted by them in this quest leads to CRIME. We cannot be sure who will be a next victim of this unprecedented crime in the society and what will we have to loose… Women have always been a soft target for evil doers in the society and it keeps increasing with time. Who should be put to blame? Respect of woman and their safety is an underlying question. All I can say is that we have not taken it seriously YET. Or should I say we have not taken it respectfully as ...

Long Hours @ Work!

It seems to be a tradition of the employees commonly of the IT frenzy companies to spend long working hours in office. It appears as if the employees compete with each other by setting a new record out time every day. Whatever is the reason, I feel it spoils the work culture of the whole office. It is not good to let work spill out of the working hours every day. And the worst is to feel casual about it. With that attitude gradually people tend to sit late even when that is not required. A notion that working late can help us gain attention at workplace is strange. We must understand that the only high quality work can give us momentum at work, which can only be achieved by looking at ways and means to be more productive at work. And by no means late sitting is one! Some people do feel that spending more time with their work is a way to express their passion towards it. They don’t realize that it may affect their personal lives and health. There is no better satisfaction tha...

Love of Life...

Whenever I come across something unpleasant in life; I remind myself of a weary blind man’s sight. Standing undefeated on a railway platform; He was trying to sell some toys to the ignorant passengers, with the best of his charm. The persistent darkness of his life was evident on his face. But he still stood undeterred in this scornful race. Old clothes, a crooked stick, rugged footwear and a baggage of toys were his only possession. But he could still earn for himself a smile of gratification; As he offered a rupee to a wandering beggar who caught his attention. The world and destiny has rendered him helpless and fragile. But his undisturbed spirits have still kept him alive. For even while being in the midst of agony and pain; He through his toys can make many innocents smile again. For, he has a love of life and a spirit to move on… Such spirit symbolizes courage and dignity. Such spirit is an epitome of triumph over difficulty. For, only when we h...

Freedom Of WORK

I wish we all thought about – the “freedom of work”. Yes, Work! I am sure all of us would want to spend most of our time doing something worthwhile. Of course the definition of “worth” would mean different to different people like money, fame, passion, etc. However, what I fail to understand here is a simple fact that, when we have so many different perceptions about work; why can’t we just step out to express and fulfil them in our own ways. Why do we have to feel so compelled in doing something that does not motivate us in a right sense that we want. May that be due to lack of opportunities, external pressures or at times due to our own prejudices and fear of being jobless, we all do get trapped in believing that the work that we have in our hand is a limitation or rather a helpless choice. But can’t we do something about it. Why don’t we come out bold to express and live our freedom of work and be true to the driving factor that we get from it? I am sure all of us wou...

“We” For “V”ictory!

It is said that “Success has many fathers and failure is orphan”, but the philosophy of my boss is something different. For him it is, “Success has many fathers but failure has even grandfathers”. It is so correct, when we work in teams, faults and failures must never be put in the bucket of any single person. As it is rightly said, “Deal with the cause and not the effect”; I believe every problem can throw open a new improvement area in the way we work, if it is analyzed correctly. It is obvious to think that there would be a problem of accountability when you say “WE” instead of “You/I”. But I am not denying that people should not be responsible towards realizing their shortcomings. What I have learnt is that the improvement can be seen at an individual level but the responsibility of ensuring that it gets done and giving the required support to achieve it lies with the entire team. The readiness to see mistakes as opportunities must get into everyone’s belief systems. Only then a s...

A DIFFERENCE...

What difference does it make?? They say; We survive or wither away; The world will just go on in its way. When lady luck looks fragile, And hard work is in vain. Life asks to pay the price; Such adverse thoughts does arise. What difference does it make?? They say We survive or wither away The world dances to the tune of elite; No one likes to seek the company of a freaky unbright. We have no reason to stay happy; We are all barred by the God Almighty. What difference does it make?? They say; We survive or wither away. I have only one thing for them to say; Don’t get pained and give it away. Difference will only arise, If the world feels a loss in your sad demise, He bestowed fragrance to all flowers alike, Don’t cry on HIM, if you haven’t recognized the charm of your life, Be a difference to someone else’s life; Pleasure will follow you in no while. Don’t wait for a miracle to happen. Conceive, believe, and achieve your dreams by...

A New Year Wish!

The clock struck 0’clock and an ear deafening sound exploded in the party hall. It was my party host who was excitedly wishing and urging people to welcome the New Year. Yeah! True a new year was really there, but what about “happy”? I really wonder at times why everyone celebrates so much for that one night. But on a deeper thought I feel that if they didn't they wouldn’t have been saying “happy”. Knowingly or unknowingly we keep saying it because we are lost in the spirit of celebrations. From the lightest music to the hardest drink we have it all in our parties. Lost so much into it that we really forget who we are and what are we going through and sadly I guess that makes us say “happy”. The year is new but the life is still a continuation and nothing miraculously is going to make it happy. So what does it take to be happy throughout the year? The answer is simple and that is “ your acceptance toward it” . Start being happy and stop measuring it. I am sure it will not cost ...

Dealing with our comfort zone

This title may sound intriguing but we all often deal with it – yes with our own comfort zones… We live in our comfort zones; unmoved and unshaken; without accepting any change. The same newspaper, the same local train, the same job, the same evening coffee, the same green grocer and the same routine – but we are happy as we call ourselves stable and comfortable. We never feel to do away with the things that we repeatedly do. Accepting change in people, environment or even small gadgets that we use gets miserable. What if the maid misses a day? What if the boss calls for a presentation? What if the cable connection is off tonight? We expect things to go on as we the way we are habituated to them all the time. Not because they add any charm to our lives but they tend to get an integral part of our unchallenged lives. We never see ourselves comfortable in doing something that we haven’t done before. We expect a lot of things to happen but are never willing to disturb our smo...
