Freedom Of WORK
I wish we all thought about – the “freedom
of work”. Yes, Work!
I am sure all of us would want to
spend most of our time doing something worthwhile. Of course the definition of “worth”
would mean different to different people like money, fame, passion, etc.
However, what I fail to understand here is a simple fact that, when we have so
many different perceptions about work; why can’t we just step out to express and
fulfil them in our own ways. Why do we have to feel so compelled in doing
something that does not motivate us in a right sense that we want. May that be due
to lack of opportunities, external pressures or at times due to our own prejudices
and fear of being jobless, we all do get trapped in believing that the work that
we have in our hand is a limitation or rather a helpless choice.
But can’t we do something about it.
Why don’t we come out bold to express and live our freedom of work and be true
to the driving factor that we get from it?
I am sure all of us would say- “Given
a choice, why not?” But who said you are choice-less? Circumstances and responsibilities
are not our bondage. And let’s understand that we cannot live up to them happily
if we are halfhearted all the time.
It is tough to discover the true
calling within us. But that should not stop us from trying it. There is no meaning
in getting caught up in something that is merely an 8 hours routine and not our
identity. Yes, Work is our identity and compromising on it would be a biggest
regret of our lives. And moreover it is worth spending the time and effort in carving
that identity in our lives. It is
advisable that we take a brave step of embracing stress, trouble and numerous
challenges for a stint while we are on that quest than spend whole of our lives
in displeasure.
Job is nothing more than a choice and we
all must spend some time in thinking how do we want to spend those 8 crucial hours
of each day of our lives. We all must strive to live and enjoy the work we do
and make it our identity.
Come on; let’s express our freedom of
work.
We are free, and it is just a choice
away…
