An Unmindful Disparity
I have been fortunate to live under
clear skies and bright sunlight,
I could never imagine chilly terrains
or a stormy plight.
But as the place, I reside in offers me
good seasons,
I am not to assume that the people do
not face adverse climatic conditions.
As my environment is conducive for me
to nurture,
I am no one to judge the people who
complain of the thrill of nature.
The disparity of weather is a factual
reality.
And so is true about our economic &
social quality.
Where I get my right to learn, earn
& grow,
There are many to whom the
opportunities remain low.
So, as I pass my opinion on the matters
related to social welfare,
I must first accept that there is
enough inequality in our day-to-day affairs.
Not always does a failure reflect a
lack of individual capacity,
But I am never willing to evaluate the
systemic inconsistency.
The disconnect is more due to a
prejudicial vision,
That I measure things from the
reference of my position.
What I have been able to achieve has
something to do with my ecosystem,
Which might have been inequitable &
inaccessible to the dreams of someone.
My acknowledgment is more important
than passing a suggestion,
To the influence of power & wealth
that exists in this race of recognition.
So, before I pass an opinion on
someone's story,
I must realize there could be a valid concern
behind the fury.
The pandemic has taught us to recognize
our vulnerabilities,
To be willing to accept our
interdependent necessities.
I must not remain insensitive towards a
social matter,
As it would be that I might have not
yet met with a tremor.
Let us remain open to talking,
understanding & creating ideas for better systems,
And not fall prey to our untested assumptions.
For only when it happens to snow,
It is much more than our fancy that we would know.
Let us clear the mist...lets first begin by being mindful of the disparity.
